We will be holding the first pre-season training session for all junior teams on Thursday 1 March @ 5pm. It will be a relatively easy session, with the coaches concentrating on basic skills.

The following week, we are be breaking up training sessions across different days. Youth girls will be training on Wednesday afternoons (5-6pm), while the boys (or mixed) teams will be training on Thursdays. A full run down of the training sessions will be communicated closer to the time.

All training this year will be conducted at our home base, Blackman Park on ovals 3 and 4.

We will be using TeamApp as our primary game and training notification system again this year. When you receive an email to join, please make sure you have your mobile number added to your profile. If you were registered last year, we ask that you update your details. We use this to notify you of any changes to the schedule or washouts.

As per previous years we have a core group of rules which we expect both the kids and parents to abide by:

  • We are here to have fun.
  • Training is a must. If you are unable to attend then drop us a email. We understand that from time to time kids will not be able to make it due to school commitments.
  • Encourage each other. Putting down a team mate or a son/daughter is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.
  • No arguing with the umpire. Players on the field and parents off the field.
  • Listen to the coaches at training. If the children are disruptive and not listening they are given a warning. If its repeated once, they sit out the drill. If its repeated twice, they sit out the balance of training and need to explain to you guys as to why.

Most of these are included in the Lane Cove Cats code of conduct. Click here to download a copy.

If anyone is able to assist the coaches with weekly training, please let us know.

See you on the footy field!
