Who wants to play AFL9s?

afl9sstatic620x340We are now taking expressions of interest to play AFL9s with Lane Cove Cats in the upcoming North Shore spring season.

For those who haven’t played before, AFL9s is a social, touch only version of AFL football. It is played outdoors on a rectangular field and requires the usual AFL skills, minus the tackling. You can kick goals, lay off a quick handball and take a diving mark. You can learn about the game and its rules by going to the AFL9s website.

In the past, this has been the most popular season for this non-contact version of AFL. Therefore we are asking people register their interest and secure a LCC AFL9s playing top.

To register your interest, please reply to the TeamApp alert we sent out over the weekend.

If you ready to commit, you should purchase a LCC AFL9s playing top if you don’t already have one. Click here to purchase it now. To receive your top before the season begins, orders must be in by 26 August.

  1. My 12 year old son Zac is interested in playing AFL 9s for Lane Cove. He is a convert from rugby! Can you give some details as to whether he is old enough, when the training and games are likely to be, etc? Thanks very much
